The Sarasota area has so much to offer for animal lovers. We are fortunate to have so many choices from Sarasota Jungle Gardens, Mote Marine Aquarium, Save Our Seabirds Bird Sanctuary (formerly Pelican Man's Bird Sanctuary), Myakka State Park, Oscar Scherer Park, and the marine life in Sarasota Bay and our local waterways. This month if you are looking for something special to do in Sarasota, check out the 6th Annual Rosaire Family’s “Animal Extravaganza” at the Big Cat Habitat and Gulf Coast Sanctuary .
This annual fundraiser is fun for all ages with an educational show under the Big Top. The gates open 1 hour prior to showtime so you have an opportunity to enjoy Fat Sams BBQ, Camel Rides, Pony Rides, Petting Zoo and much more. Shows are being held each weekend in February. Conveniently located, the Big Cat Habitat is just south of the Fruitville Road area at 7101 Palmer Blvd in Sarasota – east of I75.
The Big Cat Habitat and Gulf Coast Sanctuary is a non-profit safe haven for big cats, bears, and other animals in need. Their goal is to educate the public by fostering appreciation for animals and stressing the importance of habitat preservation.
This is an affordable event for the whole family plus you are supporting a local non-profit organization! For dates, show times, and ticket information go to www.BigCatHabitat.org
